A Passion For Children And Experience With Their Care

Welcome and thank you for taking an interest in our centre.

I am thrilled to be a part of this special and unique community.

I am an RECE Honours graduate from Humber College with over 25 years of experience in the child care industry.

Family owned and operated, our centre has been designed to meet the needs of your family.

A proud mom of 3 daughters, I truly understand the importance and challenges of maintaining a “happy home”.   Knowing your children are in good hands is priceless. We strive to create an environment where parents feel a sense of comfort when they bring their children to our centre and continue on with their daily agenda.

I believe balance is an integral part of a child’s early development. At Islington Village Child Care Centre it is our goal to create a safe environment where children are nurtured and have fun.  Play based learning and jolly phonics are integrated into the program to ensure educational stimulation, preparing children for the next phase of their learning development.

Our objective is for children to build up self esteem and inner confidence.  These basic, yet essential tools are imperative for a child’s future.

I thank you again for your interest. I am certain that your requests and requirements will be met and maintained at Islington Village Child Care Centre.

Kind Regards,

Julia Meffe, RECE

Welcome everyone, thank you for choosing our centre!

Prior to becoming the Supervisor at Islington Village, I spent three amazing years working with various age groups. During that time, I gained valuable experience building confidence, creativity, and knowledge—not only within the children I worked with, but within myself as an educator. I truly believe that while children are on a path of learning and growth, educators are learning and growing alongside them every day.

From the moment I began my journey at this centre, I knew it was a place where I could continue to grow and further enhance my abilities as an educator and leader. I remain committed to professional development and regularly participate in workshops to stay current with new approaches to play-based learning and program facilitation.

Throughout my time in the classrooms, I have had the privilege of watching infants take their first steps and say their first words. In the Preschool room, I have worked closely with families to support important milestones, including potty training. These meaningful moments are what make this profession so rewarding.

After completing the Child and Youth Work program at George Brown College, I worked in several wonderful centres. However, Islington Village truly feels like family. Being part of such a dedicated and supportive team is something I deeply value. The children and families within this community have left a lasting mark on my heart, and I am grateful to continue growing alongside them.
